We’re all about the vegan community here at VNS HQ, and we love to promote all things healthy for mind, body and soul. So this year we have decided to share with you our monthly Fitspiration, interviewing our plant-based heroes and sharing any advice they have on what makes them amazing.

This month we were buzzed to get up close and personal with military machine and motivational guru Matt ‘Ollie’ Ollerton, who you’ll probably know from Channel 4’s ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’. But that is just the tip of this iceberg of a man, and it’s not the only reason we think he’s amazing.

Ollie has been in the military since he was 18, and after five years of service with the Commando’s he was recommended for SAS Special Forces Selection. Of the 250 that started the six-month selection process, Ollie was one of just 5 candidates that made the cut.

Ollie undertook several of high-profile missions along with the SAS Special Boat Service, including counter-terror attacks, homeland security, counter-insurgency operations and humanitarian efforts.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, He is now the CEO of Break-Point (http://www.break-point.com/phone/index.html), an organization of professionals from the UK’s Elite Special Forces who aim to empower the masses with specialist tools they have learnt and the ability to go beyond their limits. The Break-Point courses strengthen your mind as well as your muscles, and Ollie’s imminent launch of Prime Evolution Programme achieves just that. Via a three-pronged approach of SAS style training, nutrition plans and psychological programmes, Ollie is helping people change the way they think and ultimately perform. But how did Ollie cope with the most rigorous quick-fire questions we could think of on vegan life and all things fitness? His answers were everything we could have wished for and more…
